For many students, this may be their first substantial classic. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eAlongside \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cem\u003e\u003cspan\u003eLes Misérables\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e\u003cspan\u003e, students engage selections from Will and Ariel Durant’s \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cem\u003eThe Story of Civilization\u003c\/em\u003e\u003cspan\u003e and original sources from the period.
